Marketing advice and action A start-up SaaS provider in the business services market requested advice on the best actions to take with both limited budget and staff resources. We were able to identify the key value proposition offered by the tool. From that we developed a range of marketing collateral, including a website. Event marketing A successful local health sector company operating worldwide wanted to improve its presence at tradeshows. Vital Marketing created a strong theme to reflect the software offered by the firm and created collateral and stand design to support the theme, including trade magazine advertising, posters, an involvement device, multimedia presentation and follow up activity. The engagement is now extending into redevelopment of the company's website. Market research A medium-sized manufacturing software vendor was in a bind. A research project started by an employee to investigate a wide variety of customer and reseller issues was in the weeds. The employee had unexpectedly left the company. With only six weeks to go before a major channel event at which the results of the research were due to be released, was it possible to rescue the project? Vital Marketing took it on. The survey was developed and put online, the invitations went out and reminders followed. With more than 20% response rate the result was far better than expected, and the insights were hugely well received at the conference. Wiki research A large multi-national had a problem: too many siloes of information and previous attempts at sharing knowledge had all but failed. Vital Marketing was tasked with understanding the needs and identifying a shortlist of Wiki software from a candidate list of more than 80 services. Vital Marketing built an assessment tool which could accept multiple selection parameters with varying priority ratings, allowing the pool of candidates to be reduced to four clear leaders, all of which could fit the need. With one of these selected (based on external criteria) the rollout is underway. Website overhaul A small ERP vendor had a problem. While its website had been satisfactory as an early step, it had not kept up with development of the company or its competition and was now identified as a brake on growth. What the company needed was a website that reflected the firm's capabilities in the New Zealand and Australian markets, and showcased the successes both of the firm and the software. Vital Marketing developed an overall strategy, structure and content outline for the website, and created the full content suite. Vital Marketing liaised with the website designer to see the website through to completion and relaunch. New product launch Vital Marketing was contracted to develop the strategic marketing plan for launching an advanced software development tool in a niche area. Working within a limited budget, the plan called for tight targeting on a specific user group and relies almost entirely on web-based activity. Vital Marketing also recommended re-branding (since adopted), and identified suitable web design and search engine optimisation service providers for the client. Implementation is ongoingCustomer testimonial: "Alec helped us formalize our marketing strategy. He produced very relevant and to the point documents that were rich on action points and did not contain any unnecessary marketing talk. His service and value-add are great and overall we are very impressed with his services." Arjan Bartlemaar, SCE-Tech Ltd. Sales and marketing re-development Working for a telecommunications sector client operating in New Zealand and overseas, Vital Marketing has re-developed all sales collateral from the ground up.Software application re-launch A client with an aging and underperforming consumer software application required counsel on whether to upgrade or retire the product. In undertaking web-based market research Vital Marketing conceived a third option, in which the product could be re-focused on a relatively un-exploited market. Further detailed market analysis proved the extent of the opportunity, competitive activity and key issues, such as basic feature set required. The client is currently gauging the extent of modifications needed to take advantage of the newly identified market opportunity.Intranet merger roll-out comms Vital Marketing has recently been engaged in managing the global internal communications for the roll-out of a new company-wide intranet, the result of the merger of two older intranets, for a large multi-national.
