ITL's Trade show presentation challenge
Interactive Technology Limited's (ITL) Business development manager Michael Thorburn was due to make a presentation to a group of 100 or so travel industry representatives and travel procurement executives at a conference in Melbourne.
The speaking engagement was an opportunity to present SERKOŽ Online (ITL's travel management product) to a group of influencers and prospective purchasers.
Challenge
To bring to life a concept and software application which is all about detail and functionality rather than whizzy graphical effects. Adding to the challenge, Michael's slot was scheduled for just after lunch.
Consultancy
Michael asked Vital Marketing to assist in developing an engaging and compelling presentation.
On Vital Marketing's advice Michael moved the focus of the presentation, from the standard set of Powerpoint slides, to himself.
Together we restructured the presentation so that it flowed in a more natural way.
Outcomes
By speaking naturally and following an intuitively sensible structure, Michael was able to deliver the presentation in a much more personable, engaging and compelling way and to be more responsive to the audience.
A number of audience members approached Michael later to compliment him on his presentation. One, a competitor, went so far as to say that he was p----d off because it was the best presentation he'd ever seen!
